1 . Do not Make Assumptions Never !
Many students assume that online classes require less work and are easier than conventional ! In fact, online classes are designed to be as strict and demanding the normal traditional courses. So, be prepared to give them a minimum of 6 hours of work per week ( and it's a conservative estimate !) . But there will be times when your study time must necessarily be greater , especially in the days before an exam.

2 . Pay attention to the learning objectives of the course
Each course requires learning objectives . On your part , try not to ignore these goals! In fact, they are the foundation on which a well designed course is "built" : lectures , activities , written assignments , discussion forums and tests. So , if you understand the objectives of the course , you will understand what is expected of you and the criteria which will be based on your votes .

3 . Practise and read all over ...
Pay attention to every aspect of the course, not only to the most obvious and direct. Your tutor has designed the course to help you achieve your learning goals. Even if something does not feel important , know that you always need to give you additional learning opportunities in order to better prepare not only for exams but also for a world of increasingly competitive job .

4 . Make sure you have the software and hardware needed
These requirements are usually specified in the introductory phase of the course or program. Without the necessary and appropriate equipment, you may not be able to transform and display documents, videos or participate in discussion groups. So make sure you have the correct connection to the Internet, antivirus software, and whatever else is essential for online learning .

5 . Be open to new ways of learning
Each student learns differently and tutors often use a variety of educational strategies to meet the different learning styles . So, try to experiment with new ways of learning , even if they seem totally different from what you are used to . The well-designed courses using technology to enhance learning : therefore, you'll be " technically " open !

6 . Feel at ease in communicating through text
Most of the communication of the online courses is through the " written word ." The messages of discussion, the written assignments and e-mail are all common modes of communication present in online courses. These are obviously very different from traditional classes , where the common form of communication is oral. Be prepared to read and write a lot !

7 . Attend ... with all my heart!
Try to participate more actively in online discussions . An example of bad comment left on a post could be a very short "I agree with the previous post ." A good comment , however , should be more challenging regarding questions related to the subject matter of the lesson. A discussion does just that : to generate thoughtful speeches . Take always the opportunity to have a meaningful conversation and constructively with " classmates " .

8 . Be " Proactive "
If you want to ask questions or do not understand a certain topic , do not hesitate to contact your tutor. As you can well understand , he will not know if you do not understand something ..... unless you tell him yourself! Do not wait until the last moment, send him an e-mail or call the instructor a long time before an exam .

9 . Establish a regular program of study
" Log in here " to your course every day ..... or at least five days a week ! Since the courses are designed for at least six hours of work a week, would not be wise and efficient wait until the end of the week to follow the courses. Try to better manage your time and study each day, just as you would in a traditional course .

10 . Participate to the polls
Many online courses often require the student impressions of their effectiveness (if any) to improve them in the future. The computerized university will then use your comments to make both programs that best training courses . Remember that online education is a relatively new concept and there is always room for improvement. So , try to spend some of your valuable time to respond to these surveys , because that will further benefit of future students.
